Understanding the Brevity of Life - 6 Days Until Launch
Founder’s Reflections #2:
Monday, November 4, 2024 | Jesus24365 Ministry
Good Morning, Dear Friends in Christ,
Thank you for being here with me as we approach the launch of Jesus24365 Ministry. Each morning, I find myself renewed by God’s Word, and today is no exception. As I sat down early this morning at 3:45 am, I reflected on how God has guided me to this point, preparing me to serve through this ministry. In these quiet hours, I turn to Scripture to strengthen my heart and refocus on His purpose, particularly as I navigate challenges like addiction recovery and the daily pursuit of faith.
Today’s reading in Proverbs 4 reminded me of the wisdom needed to navigate these struggles, while Psalm 39 led me to a powerful verse that resonates deeply, grounding me in the reality of life’s brevity. I pray that my reflections today offer encouragement for you to seek God’s purpose with a renewed sense of urgency and gratitude, trusting in His plans for our lives.
Understanding the Brevity of Life ⏳
Key Verse: 📖 “Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.” (Psalm 39:4)
🔥 A.W. Tozer once wrote that recognizing life’s brevity compels us to seek God with urgency: “Time is a resource that must be managed wisely to please God and fulfill His purposes.” This truth has weighed on me lately, as each day brings me closer to the launch of Jesus24365, a ministry rooted in the mission to Spread the Good News, Grow the Kingdom of God, and serve the poor and needy 🌍.
Reflecting on Tozer’s words, I realize I’ve spent much of my life chasing fleeting things—money, pleasure, excitement, the thrills that only ever left me empty. But in these last nine weeks of preparing this ministry, I’ve experienced an entirely new contentment, a joy found only in dedicating myself fully to God. Each 24-hour day I’m given feels more precious now, more purposeful than ever. It’s as though, in serving Him, my time has been transformed. ✝️ And I pray this ministry will do the same for others, that through Jesus24365, lives will be changed, and people will come to know the true contentment found in living for God.
Counting Down to Launch 🚀
Today, with the launch only 49 work hours away, I continue to lay the foundation for what’s to come. Yesterday, the technology challenges were a test, the kind that can so easily discourage. But the Holy Spirit was with me, reminding me that perfection isn’t the goal—faithfulness is. I made decisions on what to prioritize and let go of what could wait. Jesus24365 doesn’t need to be flawless; it just needs to be real, authentic, and focused on sharing His message. And in these moments, the Holy Spirit’s guidance was unmistakable. 🛠️ We won’t ever be perfect—only Jesus was—but He calls us to move forward in faith, trusting Him every step of the way.
Anchored in Scripture 📖
Proverbs 4 and Psalm 39 were my anchors today. David’s cry in Psalm 39 resonates with my own as I walk this path. Like David, I ask God to help me see life in its true perspective—to understand its brevity so that I can make each day count for His glory. This isn’t just about a ministry launch; it’s about a daily recommitment to be His vessel, His tool in this world. And it fills me with peace and gratitude to know that my life, short as it may be, is held in His eternal hands. I’ve come to realize that true contentment, purpose, and joy aren’t found in the temporary things of this world but in serving God with all I have.
Reflection for You 💡
I invite you to reflect on your own life with me. What might God be calling you to let go of, so you can fully embrace His purpose? Where might He be nudging you to dedicate time, energy, and heart to the work of His Kingdom? The journey God has brought me on these past nine weeks has been transformative, and I pray it’s only the beginning of what He has planned—not only for me but for everyone He brings into the Jesus24365 Ministry. Together, we can be vessels of His love, sharing His Good News, helping others find peace in Christ, and lifting up the poor and needy as He calls us to.
Closing Thoughts 🙏
Tozer’s quote lingers in my mind as I go about each task, big or small: time is a gift, a precious resource. How differently would we live if we truly understood that each day, each moment, is an opportunity to live for God? And how might He be calling you to share in that mission?
Today, after working on technology challenges, crafting messages, and writing another poem for Heart’s Refuge inspired by Psalm 39, my spirit feels content and joyful. I’m filled with gratitude to be my Lord’s tool for another day, entrusted with the privilege of sharing His love and truth. The launch countdown continues, and so does this journey—one I am blessed to share with you. May God bring you peace, purpose, and joy, as He has given to me. I pray that as we walk this path together, the Jesus24365 Ministry will be a source of hope, comfort, and Good News for everyone it touches.
