✨ Glimpses of Grace #24 | Rachel #4 – The Unexpected Prayer

📅 Jesus24365 Weekly #52 | Wednesday, April 9, 2025

✍ Written by Jeff Neubauer, Founder of Jesus24365 Ministry

A peaceful sunlit park scene with golden light streaming through the trees, casting soft shadows along a quiet paved path. A wooden bench sits empty, waiting, surrounded by lush green bushes and tall trees that sway gently in the light. In the distance, city buildings peek through the foliage, barely visible through the golden haze of sunrise or sunset. The words overlaid on the image read: “Today’s Story of GRACE.” The tranquil setting evokes a sense of stillness, reflection, and divine presence—reminding viewers that God’s grace is not confined to churches or sacred spaces but can be found in the quiet corners of everyday life. Perfectly capturing the mission of Jesus24365 Ministry, this image calls hearts to pause and look for God’s hand at work, even in the simplest moments. ✝️ Created by Jeff Neubauer, Founder of Jesus24365 Ministry. 💌 A Note of Gratitude

Dear Jesus24365 Family and Readers,

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for journeying with us through every story, every reflection, and every snippet of grace we share. Your presence here—whether through a comment, a prayer request, or a word of encouragement—reminds me that we’re all interconnected. We learn, grow, and find solace in God’s love by lifting each other up. It’s humbling to see how these weekly glimpses of grace not only spark personal transformation but also cultivate a deeper sense of community among us all. Thank you for staying, praying, and believing.

Prayer Isn’t Always Planned

Sometimes it sneaks up on us—at a desk, in a deadline, or during a moment we didn’t expect. Rachel is a professional, a planner, a pusher-through. But even she gets caught off guard by peace that shows up… unannounced.

Rachel’s story hasn’t been free from challenges. Early on, she juggled one tight deadline after another, convinced that sheer willpower could keep her afloat. Prayer was never on her to-do list—it felt more like a luxury she simply couldn’t afford. But a personal crisis forced her to re-evaluate her priorities and seek help beyond her own strength. In those hard moments, she discovered a God who meets us in the grind, the overwhelm, and the raw vulnerability of life's “too much.”

Where spreadsheets and stress once dictated her every move, Rachel found a different rhythm—a faith-driven pause. No more was prayer an afterthought. She realized that even the briefest cry for help could spark profound moments of peace. And in finding God’s presence in the midst of her daily tasks, she saw that prayer doesn’t need a perfect setup or a special location. Sometimes, it’s simply a whispered plea in a quiet office, a sigh in the middle of a busy hallway, or a heartfelt “thank you” when a deadline is finally met.

When Peace Interrupts: The Unexpected Prayer

Rachel didn’t intend to pray that night. She intended to work—late. But somewhere between her spreadsheet and her exhaustion, she folded her hands. No fancy words. No pretense. Just quiet surrender.

This week’s comic—“The Unexpected Prayer”—captures that sacred interruption.

Rachel, a young professional woman dressed in a navy blue business suit, sits alone at her office desk at night, hands clasped in prayer. Her eyes are closed in deep reflection. A golden cross necklace rests over her blouse, softly lit by a desk lamp that shines like a spotlight from heaven. Behind her, blurred city lights glow like distant stars—signs of a world still moving, while she pauses to meet with God. An open Bible lies on her desk, pages gently parted. The comic title reads “The Unexpected Prayer,” and her words appear in the panel: “Even here, Your peace finds me.” This is Rachel’s moment of surrender in the chaos. A reminder that prayer isn’t reserved for pews—it can bloom in the boardroom, echo in offices, and rise above the noise. Glimpses of Grace is a ministry of Jesus24365. RACHEL #4 - THE UNEXPECTED PRAYER | GLIMPSES OF GRACE #23 | JESUS24365 MINISTRY

In a high-rise office lit by city lights, Rachel bows her head at her desk. A single lamp glows. Her whispered words say it all:

“Even here, Your peace finds me.”

And that’s what grace does: it meets us where we are, even in unexpected places.

📖 Bible Study #1: Philippians 4:6–7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God…”

💬 Rachel’s Reflection:

"Turns out, prayer can fit between emails and elevator dings."

👀 Consider This:

  • Where have you underestimated God’s willingness to meet you?

  • What if prayer isn’t a break from life—but the way to move through it?

📖 Bible Study #2: Psalm 139:7–10

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? …Even there Your hand will guide me.”

💬 Rachel’s Reflection:

"I didn’t go looking for peace. It came looking for me."

👀 Consider This:

  • What’s your “even there” place—where peace surprised you?

  • Who needs to know that God goes everywhere you go?

📖 Bible Study #3: Romans 8:26

“The Spirit helps us in our weakness… the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”

💬 Rachel’s Reflection:

"Some prayers are silent. Some are sighs. Both are enough."

👀 Consider This:

  • Have you ever prayed without words?

  • What would it look like to invite God into your workspace?
