There’s a quiet truth the Lord has been impressing on my heart: You can’t save the world, dear one. You can’t even carry it. But you can release it to the only One who can. This is the heart of benevolent detachment—a sacred act of trust, not abandonment. It is, as Augustine said, a way to “empty ourselves of all that fills us, so that we may be filled with what we are empty of.” We do this not in anger or apathy, but in love and faith.

In just 72 hours, I’ll step in front of eight leaders at St. Marcus Lutheran Church and speak the vision God placed on my heart: Godly Homes. Safe Blocks. But long before words fill the room, surrender fills my heart. Not my strength. Not my strategy. Just this: Everything I have. Everyone I love. Every word I’ll say—I give to Christ. Romans 12:1“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

This Thursday morning, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM CST, I will stand before eight leaders at my home church—St. Marcus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee—and share the vision God has placed on my heart:  Godly Homes. Safe Blocks. It's more than a phrase. It’s a blueprint. A prayer. A call.  A call to bring the Gospel home—not just in word, but in the way we live, raise families, walk blocks, and love neighbors. It’s a vision for revival in Milwaukee.

Pastor Samuel has always believed in two unshakable truths: He is a citizen of heaven first (Philippians 3:20). He must live out that citizenship in a broken world. He’s worn the cross around his neck for decades, but he’s also worn invisible scars. Scars of injustice. Of racism. Of riots and silence.
