When grief runs deep and words fall short, faith whispers through presence, healing flows through compassion, and encouragement becomes a holy act.

Glimpses of Grace #30

Maria #5 – Encouraging Words

📅 Jesus24365 Weekly #58 | Wednesday, April 23, 2025

✍ Written by Jeff Neubauer, Founder of Jesus24365 Ministry

A collage of four everyday moments reveals the quiet power of grace: a nurse holds the hand of an elderly woman with gentle compassion; two mothers smile as they bond over a baby stroller; a young couple laughs together, their joy effortless; and two friends share coffee and encouragement. Across the center, the word GRACE is boldly written in white capital letters, with the subtext: “God’s love finds us everywhere.” This image from Jeff Neubauer and Jesus24365 Ministry captures the heart of faith-in-action—not just in pulpits or prayer rooms, but in hospitals, hallways, homes, and heart-to-hearts. Grace doesn’t wait for the perfect moment. It shows up in the ordinary, the honest, the unfiltered. Wherever love is shared, wherever someone chooses presence over performance—grace is already there. #Jesus24365 #GraceEverywhere #FaithInTheOrdinary #GodsLoveMoves #GlimpsesOfGrace #JeffNeubauer #EverydayFaith

💌 A Note of Gratitude

Dear Jesus24365 Family,

Thank you for walking this road with us—through every season, every story, every soul whose faith may feel faint but still flickers with hope.

Some moments of grace are bold and beautiful. Others show up quietly, without notice—spoken in hallways, whispered through tears, carried in the arms of those who know what it means to hurt and to hope.

This week’s story is one of those.

Maria doesn’t lead with answers. She leads with presence. And sometimes, that’s exactly what grace looks like.

If this story speaks to you, please share it. Someone else may be standing in that same hallway, needing the same reminder.

📖 Dear Jesus24365 Family,

Maria’s voice is gentle, but it carries weight. Because behind it is pain—and resurrection.

Her faith wasn’t formed in ease. It was refined in fire.

Two years ago, her husband Joseph—her companion of 30 years—passed away after a brutal battle with cancer.

They had built a life together. Prayed together. Planned to grow old together. And when he died, it was as if the future died with him.

Maria couldn’t focus at work. She wandered through her days like a ghost in her own life. The house felt too quiet. Her prayers felt hollow.

She finally walked into her pastor’s office and collapsed in the chair. Through sobs, she asked the question only grief can birth:

“What can I do, Pastor? Tell me. How do I stop this pain?”

Her pastor didn’t give a fix. He gave her space. And then truth:

“You don’t have to stop the pain. You just have to let Jesus sit with you in it.”

Maria did. Slowly. Tearfully. Reluctantly.

And grace showed up.

Not in a rush. Not in a lightning bolt. But in small moments.

A friend’s text. A stranger’s smile. A verse she’d forgotten but suddenly remembered. She started to realize that what she once received from Joseph—strength, support, encouragement—God was now calling her to give.

She couldn’t erase her sorrow. But she could redeem it—by showing up for others who needed hope.

That’s the Maria you meet in this week’s comic.

💬 Encouragement in a Crisis: “Encouraging Words”

In this week’s comic—“Encouraging Words”—Maria stands quietly beside a woman in a hallway. Her eyes don’t judge. Her hands don’t rush. She simply places one hand on the woman’s shoulder and says:

“Trust that we’re in His hands today.”

No fanfare. No fix. Just a seed of peace.

And in that moment? That’s enough.

In a softly lit hallway, Maria gently rests a hand on the shoulder of a woman visibly overwhelmed. The woman’s head is bowed, eyes closed, clutching a tissue. Maria stands beside her—not with a sermon, but with presence. On the wall nearby, a simple framed cross hangs as sunlight streams through a narrow window. A quiet caption reads: “Trust that we’re in His hands today.” This image, from the Glimpses of Grace series by Jeff Neubauer, founder of Jesus24365 Ministry, captures the sacred strength of encouragement born from loss. After losing her husband Joseph to cancer, Maria struggled with unbearable grief. But slowly, God used her brokenness to bring comfort to others. This moment reflects how faith lives not just in pulpits—but in hallways, hugs, and whispered truth. Encouragement isn’t always loud. Sometimes it stands beside you and reminds you: You’re not alone. #FaithLikeMaria #Jesus24365 #GlimpsesOfGrace #EncouragingWords #CompassionHeals #GriefToGrace
MARIA #5 - ENCOURAGING WORDS | GLIMPSES OF GRACE #30 | JESUS24365 MINISTRY

📖 Bible Study #1: Proverbs 16:24

“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”

💬 Maria’s Reflection: "Sometimes grace is soft-spoken. But its impact sticks."

👀 Consider This:

• Who could use healing from your words this week?

• What words have healed you?

📖 Bible Study #2: Isaiah 41:10

“Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.”

💬 Maria’s Reflection: "I don’t always have the answers. But I know Who does."

👀 Consider This:

• When’s the last time you reminded someone: you’re not alone?

• Who needs that today?

📖 Bible Study #3: Colossians 3:16

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly… teaching and admonishing one another…”

💬 Maria’s Reflection: "Faith isn’t just for pulpits. It belongs in the hallway too."

👀 Consider This:

• What are you letting dwell in you today—fear or peace?

• What message do people hear when they meet you?

Let Maria’s quiet faith lead you this week:

  1. Pause for someone who looks like they’re carrying more than they say

  2. Speak gently. Speak truth. Speak love.

  3. Write down one verse to carry with you as a lifeline

  4. Text someone who’s gone quiet—just say, “I’m here.”

📢 P.S. Your story matters.

Encouragement doesn’t always wear a microphone.

Sometimes it looks like a hallway. A hand on a shoulder.

A sentence that doesn’t fix it—but reminds you you’re not alone.

That’s what Maria carries now.

That’s what grace can do through you.

Maria didn’t set out to become a source of strength—she just didn’t give up when it felt like everything was falling apart.

Her husband, her stability, her rhythm—gone. But Jesus never left.
