A Simple Coffee, A Big Impact

Maria didn’t just see a patient in that hospital bed—she saw her father. The elderly man’s trembling hands reminded her of the last days of her own papa, when cancer had made him too weak to lift a spoon.

Maria hesitated before slipping away to brew an extra cup of coffee. When she placed it in his hands, she whispered, “Just a little boost to get us through the day.”

The man looked up, eyes brimming with tears. “I lost my wife last year. Every morning, she’d bring me coffee. It hasn’t tasted the same since.”

Maria felt a lump rise in her throat. She squeezed his hand. “Jesus hasn’t left you. And neither have we.”

📖 Isaiah 41:10 – "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God."

👀 Reflection: Who in your life needs to feel seen today?

💭 Maria’s Thought: "A simple act of love can remind someone that they are never alone."

🔥 Maria’s Three Stories of Faith and Kindness

1️⃣ Growing Up in Mexico—The Lesson of Giving

Maria was raised in a small town in Mexico, where faith and generosity were woven into everyday life. Her Abuela Rosa always made extra food, just in case someone in need knocked on their door. One evening, a hungry traveler arrived, and without hesitation, Abuela invited him in. Maria watched as the man ate with trembling hands, tears falling into his soup.

"Maria," her grandmother whispered, "never ignore a hungry heart. When we serve others, we serve Jesus."

📖 Matthew 25:35 – "For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink."

👀 Reflection: How can you open your heart to serve others in your daily life?

💭 Maria’s Thought: "When we feed others, we share Jesus' love."

2️⃣ The Day She Almost Lost Faith

Five years ago, Maria lost her husband. At first, she prayed for healing. Then, she begged for a miracle. When none came, she sat in church one Sunday, staring at the cross with tear-stained eyes. "Where were You?" she whispered.

That week, she met a young widow sitting in the hospital chapel. The woman held a Bible but hadn’t opened it. Maria sat beside her in silence before finally saying, "I lost my husband, too."

The woman broke down. "I don’t know how to keep believing."

Maria reached for her hand. "Neither did I. But even when I stopped talking to Jesus, He never stopped sitting with me."

📖 2 Corinthians 1:4 – "He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others."

👀 Reflection: Who in your life needs encouragement today?

💭 Maria’s Thought: "Faith doesn’t mean never doubting. It means holding on even when we do."

3️⃣ A Loaf of Bread & a Divine Encounter

Maria’s grandmother always told her, "Feed the hungry, and you feed Christ." She remembered those words years later while serving in a small clinic in Mexico.

A homeless woman stood outside the clinic, her arms wrapped around two hungry children. Without hesitation, Maria ran inside, grabbed half her lunch—a loaf of bread—and handed it to them.

“Thank you,” the mother whispered, barely meeting Maria’s gaze.

Maria didn’t expect to see them again. But days later, that same woman returned—clean, hopeful, and clutching a Bible. “I read about Jesus in this book. You fed me like He fed the crowds. Can you tell me more?”

📖 John 6:35 – "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry."

👀 Reflection: How can you be the hands and feet of Jesus this week?

💭 Maria’s Thought: "Sometimes, faith starts with a meal."
