How Grace Reclaims Our Presence: Finding Balance Between Productivity and Family One Quiet Yes at a Time

Glimpses of Grace #31 | Rachel #5 – Small Wins, Big Grace

Jesus24365 Weekly #59 | Saturday, April 26, 2025

✍ Written by Jeff Neubauer, Founder of Jesus24365 Ministry

📬 A Note of Gratitude

Dear Jesus24365 Family,

Thank you for being a community that sees beyond the surface. This week’s story isn’t flashy or dramatic. It’s quiet, real, and deeply needed.

Rachel’s life was full—meetings, marketing wins, all the right metrics. But her heart was starving.

She didn’t lose everything in a moment. She realized, over time, that she was losing what mattered most. Her kids. Her presence. Her peace.

This is her glimpse of grace—and it just might be yours, too.

🕊 Dear Jesus24365 Family,

Rachel’s name was on awards. Her campaigns made national headlines. But at home, her absence was louder than any praise.

She spent her days in conference rooms and on Zoom calls, winning clients and commanding meetings.

And she almost missed the most important meeting of all:

🔹 The Missed Miracle

Her daughter, Ava, took her first steps in the living room. Rachel was there—but she didn’t see it. Her eyes were on her laptop. By the time she looked up, it was done.

🔹 The Broken Voice

A week later, her son Caleb whispered during bedtime:

“Mommy, you’re always working. I think your computer is more important than me.”

That’s when Rachel broke.

She closed the laptop. Dropped to her knees. And cried.

“Lord, I don’t know how to balance this. But I don’t want to miss my kids.”

And God answered—not with lightning, but with clarity:

Choose presence. Not perfection.

That’s the Rachel in this week’s comic. Still in her work suit. Still a professional. But finally present.

🖼Small Wins, Big Grace

Rachel sits on a park bench, dressed for work. Her laptop and phone rest beside her—untouched.

Her kids run toward her with joy. And she smiles.

"Sometimes, grace is as simple as making time."

In a peaceful park bathed in golden sunlight, Rachel, dressed in a navy business suit, sits on a bench smiling at two young children running toward her—a boy and a girl, full of joy. Her phone rests forgotten beside her, showing that she’s fully present in the moment. The caption reads, “Sometimes, grace is as simple as making time.” Trees surround the scene, casting soft shadows, while other families can be seen in the distance, adding life and warmth to the setting. This moment captures the essence of grace in everyday life—not loud, not flashy, just real and intentional.

RACHEL #5 - SMALL WINS, BIG GRACE | GLIMPSES OF GRACE #31 | JESUS24365 MINISTRY

📖 Bible Study #1: Ephesians 5:15-16

"Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity..."

💬 Rachel’s Reflection: "Grace multiplies when I give my time generously."

👀 Consider This:

  • What would it look like to truly “make the most” of today?

  • Who’s waiting for you to show up?

📖 Bible Study #2: Mark 10:14

"Let the little children come to me... for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

💬 Rachel’s Reflection: "They don’t need perfect. They need present."

👀 Consider This:

  • Are you making room for people—not just tasks—this week?

  • What would it take to be more available?

📖 Bible Study #3: Luke 16:10

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much..."

💬 Rachel’s Reflection: "Big grace often starts with small yeses."

👀 Consider This:

  • What’s one small commitment you can honor today?

  • Where is God inviting you to show up in the little things?

🔥 This Week’s Challenge – Trade Control for Connection

Grace doesn’t demand more time—it asks for deeper presence. This week, don’t just fit people in. Reorder what matters.

  1. Interrupt yourself. When you feel the pull to check your email or multitask, choose presence instead.

  2. Stay longer than you normally would. After dinner. At bedtime. In the hallway. Linger.

  3. Ask someone: "Do you feel seen by me lately?" Then truly listen.

  4. Identify one place you grip control tightly. Offer it to God.

  5. Post your moment using #FaithLikeRachel + #Jesus24365

Let your small yes speak louder than your hustle.

Rachel’s story challenged me too.

How many “small yeses” have we rushed past today?

Sometimes the holiest thing we can do isn’t add another appointment or hit another goal—

it’s closing the laptop, kneeling in the grass, or staying five minutes longer.

🌿 When was the last time you truly chose presence over productivity?

I’d love to hear your story below.
