Let’s open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, lean on the Father’s strength, and walk forward in the light of Jesus, our Redeemer. 🌟

God’s blessings to you, dear family—let’s walk this path of faith and victory, hand in hand! 🙏

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

God’s Power in Our Weakness

Strength in Surrender

This verse reminds us of God's unwavering support and strength, especially during moments when we feel most inadequate or weak. It is an assurance that His grace covers every shortcoming and that His power shines brightest when we depend fully on Him. 🙏

Testimony of Transformation

Breaking Chains, Building Temples

As I write this reflection, I am humbled to share how Jesus has transformed my life. Just 170 days ago, I was bound by the chains of addiction to sugar, weed, pornography, and daily acts of self-gratification. These habits consumed my life and left me feeling empty. But God, in His infinite mercy, intervened. I called upon Jesus, my Savior and best friend, to deliver me. Each time the enemy came knocking with temptation, I turned to Him, pleading for His power to defeat Satan, the deceiver.

With every prayer, I was reminded of this truth: my body is a temple—a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit.

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own." — 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV)

Through His grace, I have remained free of these addictions for 170 days. This is not my strength but His, for His grace is sufficient, and His power is perfected in my weakness.

"When the devil comes a calling, I call upon my best friend Jesus. He saves me again and again, destroying the deceiver's schemes. My body is His temple, and His grace sustains me through every battle."

If you, too, are struggling, know that we all face moments when our own strength seems insufficient, where the weight of our struggles feels insurmountable. But it is precisely in those moments that Jesus steps in, reminding us of His sufficiency. Call upon Him, and watch His transforming power reshape your life. 🌟

Lessons from Proverbs 19

The Wisdom Path

This morning, as I awoke on a cold, rainy Wisconsin day, I found myself studying Proverbs 19. The words felt like a beacon of light, cutting through the gloom, offering profound insights that spoke directly to my journey of addiction and recovery. These three proverbs were like a burst of sunlight, reminding me of the importance of wise counsel, trusting God’s sovereignty, and living with integrity. Their impact on my path has been nothing short of transformative.

1. The Importance of Wise Counsel

"Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise." — Proverbs 19:20

This verse encourages us to remain open to advice and discipline, even when it is challenging. In my journey of recovery, wise counsel has been a pillar of strength. Accountability partners, prayer warriors, and spiritual mentors have reminded me to lean on God’s truth instead of my own understanding.

Personal Reflection: Think of a time when you sought advice that changed your course for the better. How can you continue to welcome wise counsel into your life? 💡

2. Trusting God’s Sovereignty

"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." — Proverbs 19:21

Though I made countless plans to overcome addiction on my own, they failed until I surrendered to God's purpose. His timing and guidance brought me the strength I lacked. Trusting Him transformed my despair into hope.

Personal Reflection: Reflect on a time when things didn’t go as planned but turned out for the better. How can you trust more deeply in God’s purpose? 🌿

3. Integrity Brings Security

"The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper." — Proverbs 19:8

Living with integrity is an ongoing commitment. Each day free of addiction is a testament to the security that comes from cherishing wisdom and making God-centered choices.

Personal Reflection: Think about a recent decision made with integrity and how it brought you peace. How can you continue to value wisdom in your daily walk? 🕊️

Practical Application

  • Counsel Awareness: Seek advice from someone you trust this week. Reflect on how their guidance shapes your choices. For example, reach out to a mentor or a trusted friend to discuss an area of growth and see how their insights can help you align more closely with God's wisdom.

  • Trust Practice: In uncertain moments, surrender to God’s purpose. Take note of how this trust brings peace and clarity. For instance, when faced with a difficult decision, consciously choose to let go of your own plans and trust that God’s way is best.

  • Integrity Check: Each day, reflect on one decision that aligns with God’s wisdom. Journal how this impacts your sense of purpose and fulfillment. You could write about how a choice to act honestly or with kindness brought you a deeper sense of peace and connection to God.

Encouragement for Tough Days

When the journey feels overwhelming, remember: God's grace is sufficient for you. Each moment you choose Him over temptation is a victory in His name. You are not alone; His wisdom and power are guiding you, and your testimony can inspire others to embrace His transforming grace.

What’s Next?

Before we close, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for each of you. Your commitment to this journey of faith inspires me daily, and I thank God for the incredible ways He is moving in your lives. Tomorrow’s Founder's Reflections #18 will dive into The Role of Exercise in Spiritual and Physical Health, reminding us of the beautiful connection between honoring God with our bodies and strengthening our spirits.

Scripture: Romans 12:1 – "Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God..."

Together, let’s embrace a holistic view of stewardship that glorifies Him in every way, including how we care for our physical health. 💪
